Director / Choreographer

DIrector bio & Resume

Meghan Spencer began performing at the age of 4 with CPD Dance in Lincoln, Nebraska.  Through her youth she continued her dance training, and additionally performed with vocal and instrumental ensembles, an award winning show choir, and in the cast of nationally recognized theatre productions.  Meghan began her journey with aerial arts in early 2016 and was so excited to be offered a contract with Kansas City Aerial Arts professional company in April of 2022. Additionally, she currently performs regularly with other local and nationally recognized companies, including Quixotic Fusion, KC Burlesque Downtown Underground, STL Boom Boom Room, & American Immersion Theater.

Meghan has always had dreams of creating, and she began her choreographic career with Encore 4” and “Encore 5” at Lincoln Southwest High School.  She started choreographing pieces for Kansas City Aerial Arts’ biannual productions in 2018 and became an Artistic Director for this company in 2023.  Recently, Meghan has directed and choreographed a multitude of large scale projects including a halftime show for the Saskatchewan RUSH Lacrosse League, and opening ceremonies for Destination Imagination’s Global Finals.

Using her dance and acting background to bring a little something extra to her choreography both on the ground and in the air, Meghan has found a very unique voice in the circus world.  She specializes in creative storytelling and emotional performances both as a performer and creative director.

I can enthusiastically recommend Meghan Spencer after recently hiring her as an aerialist performer, choreographer, dancer and director for a marquis gala event.

As an industry professional for more than 25 years in Los Angeles, a Friends of the Lied of Performing Arts Board member, and current lecturer at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, I believe Meghan possesses all the qualities that any producer would need to execute a successful show or event.

During my time as SVP of FremantleMedia - one of the largest television production companies in the world - I hired countless people and depended on their ability to “deliver.” I can tell you with complete confidence that I have rarely seen Meghan’s level of talent, leadership skills and authentic willingness to collaborate in any one person.

In short, Meghan delivered.
