"At first I was a little uncomfortable coming out of my shell and letting my body move freely but Meghan made the environment very comfortable... I learned a lot about how my body likes to move and discovered some interesting movements on myself and my peers."

Workshops

Lyra Choreography & Transitions

Sometimes you want to figure out how to get from point A to point B, but that pathway isn't always a straight line.  Creating your own unique pathways can take your artistry to the next level!  Learn ways of approaching new lyra choreography and transitions, practice exploring your options, and gain tools that will help you build beautiful sequences in lyra.

Perfect for the lyra artist of every level!!  Can be specialized based on the level of the students in the class.

Movement Exploration / Act Creation

You are an artist and you want to make art.  But how to do you take all these skills you've learned in class and put it together to make a thing?!  Let me help you!  In this class we'll explore movement that is outside of skills, work on efficient sequencing, and taking those sequences to the next level with emotion and intention.  If you've never made an act or would like some fresh movement exploration, this is the class for you!

Spin Technique

If you're a lyra, dance trapeze, or sling artist then whether or not you like it you've chosen an apparatus that NEEDS to spin!  This class will help you understand the correct techniques for basic spins and allow you to take your spinning to the next level.

Considerations of connection: Exploring Your Apparatus While Not Leaving The Ground

An aerialist's relationship with the ground is just as important as their ability to fly in the air.  Unfortunately it's a very overlooked element of most aerial acts; most performers leave the ground as quickly as possible and don’t utilize it as an additional artistic tool.  Through exercise and exploration, this class will help you learn the tools at your deposal, how to use our connection with the ground to our advantage, and make transitions from one to to the other more seamless. We will spend some time getting grounded into the floor, investigating the new ways our apparatus can move, and exploring the creativity available when our weight is shared between the two.

Act Development

So you have an idea, or you have an act...now what?!  It's time to make that act exactly what you've been dreaming of; a piece of art that makes your audience FEEL something.  In this class Meghan will meet you where you're at with your act, and help you take it to the next level.

Horizontal Apparatus Technique

There's often a "more right" way to do things, or at least a different way that is worth considering.  Doing things the right way can help protect you from injury and work smarter (not harder).  In this class Meghan will break down the basics and building blocks of horizontal apparatus technique.
